removing the propeller shaft

this may seem like an obvious question to everyone else but im stumped. Im taking out my tranny and got to the removal of the propeller shaft. i undid the bolts and can't get it seperated. Do you just use alot of force like stick a crowbar between the differential and the PS. I havn't tried that yet for fear of breaking something. I know on older cars there is like a sleeve and it kind of folds in on itself and compresses but i dont see anything like this on the propeller shaft. how do i seperate it from the tranny and diff

You should be able to push it into the transmission housing slightly. You have an automatic right?
Just push it in and then drop the back and then pull it out of the tranny. REMEMBER to block off the shaft hole in the transmission! Also remember to mark the rear flange of the drive shaft and the differential so you put it back the way it came off....important!

It's just stuck a little. Tap it with a hammer and it will loosen up.
