Removing a cd deck

Does anyone know how to remove a CD deck? I want to know if I could just pop off the one piece that surrounds that area or if I need to pop something else off.

You can bend some coat hangers into a "U" you then insert one on each side to release the unit. You can also buy them at stereo stores too. I had an awfull time getting mine out. To the point of taking out some of the dash. There is a little rubber cone on the back of the radio or CD I can't remember, but mine had molded in to the back support and it wasn't letting go. It turned into a real pain in the postierer.

Good luck. You may also be able to find something on this by searching some of the better RX7 web pages. Type in RX7 on yahoo or google and do some leg work.

If the CD deck is like the Tape deck there's a piece of plastic on the left and right sides of the front of the deck that you can push to the side and out. Then you insert the U rods and use those to pull out the deck. I have a set of the rods if you want them.

And this really belongs in the Audio section.
