Removing the 180 Km/hour restriction

Does anyone has any idea how I can remove the 180 Km/ Hour restriction.

My 3rd gen RX7 came from Japan and it has this 180 Km maximum speed restriction.

Any info might help. Thanks.

generally, the ecu is the speed limiter. I don't know this is the case in the FD, but it is in many other cars. (most BMW & Mercedes etc)

What you need is a speed cut defender. Blitz sells one and I believe it fits all cars.

I think that the Apexi Rev/Speed meter (and other similar devices) also has a function to remove the speed cut.

Have a look at this page for some examples:

An aftermarket ECU would also do the trick and allow for future mods

I believe for an FD all u need to do is get a reprogrammed ECU. That should elminate the limiter. Hopefully someone can confirm this.
