remove throttle body, replace, coolant buzzer?

I removed my throttle body the other day to mess with my spark plug wires. Lost a little coolant, but not that much (guessing... six ounces). Several times since then my coolant buzzer has come on, but I'm no where near overheating. This morning it came on as soon as I started the car, and continued until I reached normal operating temp, ~83C.

Anyone know what this is? Is it a pressure problem or something? I recall it happening about 4 months ago under the same circumstances but that time I lost NO coolant (car was cold).

The coolant sensor is on the front of the waterneck. Check in there to see if you have coolant in there. The sensor reads the level of the colant, not presure. Also you might have damaged the wire that runs to it, or you might have a bad sensor.

When you pull the coolant line from the throttle body, it causes a small amount of air to enter the system. That air causes air bubbles to form at the sensor and sets it off.

The only thing to do is let the bubbles circulate through the system and bubble them out periodically. Run the car for a while, check the coolant. Repeat until coolant level remains stable and no more buzzer.

I've had the exact same problem a number of times.

Ditto that. I've been dealing with the same problem ever since the hose popped off the back of my AST. It's a real beyatsh to get the air out, because it seems like after filling up the neck as soon as I start the engine, it dumps what I've poured in right back into the overflow, which then gets overfull and dumps it onto the ground, which then gets you kicked out of an autocross....oh well.....good luck!
