remove mini hub caps without removing wheels

Any clever little tricks or tools to remove the hubbies without taking the wheels off the car?

Not a biggie, just seemed like somebody might have clevered up a way to do it...

If you are referring to the center caps, just slide a thin piece of metal (file, small screwdriver) in and pry them out. If you are careful, you will avoid chipping the paint.

That was the problem, my small screwdrivers were tending to chip the edges of the minicaps but not moving the caps out of their nests. A thinner material with a reverse edge to pull them out seems like it would be ideal, but I have never seen such a thing.
Maybe hammer a tool out of a coat hanger.
A coat hanger tool got the radio out, so maybe follow success!

Sorry, but why not just remove the wheel to get them out? Should only take you a few minutes to pull the wheel off.

You can pull the wheel off, remove the center cap, put the wheel back on. Take your time doing whatever you need done (I'm assuming repainting) then just press them back into place.

You don't have to have the wheel off the entire time the center cap is out.

Yep. Home tool jacking, unbolting, torquing x4 is doable, but slow.
I am just used to being able to remove hub caps easily, from cars with big hubcaps, and thought someone might have figured out some clever way.
