Problem:
I had an alarm/key-less installed recently, and whenever I unlock the car with the key-less my headlights and blinkers start going crazy.

I did a search and read many threads on pulling CPU2 thread to disable the alarm. I'm not good with electrical things, but this seems like more of a band-aid. I was wondering if there was a way to actually remove the alarm? I paid for the installers to remove the old alarm so I can make them do this for me too.

 

Handily enough, I was elbow deep in the schematics for the alarm system last night. CPU2 contains the "computer" for the factory alarm. I suspect the factory alarm is getting pissed because it is seeing the latches move into the unlocked position without any of the key-is-present switches in the lock cylinders being tripped.

 

Ground the hood sensor located on the latch. It will prevent the alarm from arming.

 

I have this same problem..... the only way for me to actually get into my car is simply hit the unlock button on the fob, let the alarm go crazy while i disconnect the negative battery terminal.

its a big inconvenience, and rather embarrassing. I find that i dont drive the FD any place where im going to be away from it, and away for an extended period. So i simply only drive the FD to local hang out spots or do stop and go's at stores while i park in front of the store.

My FD has the factory system, as well as an aftermarket system.

Can you provide a pic of this sensor?

I'd hate to take it to a car audio and electronics place only to pay $150+ to solve this issue and then have them tell me they simply grounded this sensor.

 

There is a Brown/White wire that is connected at CPU #2 that can be grounded. It is probably best to splice a ground wire near CPU #2, however it is easier to do at the sensor.

The hood sensor is located right underneath the latch. I believe the wiring runs toward the driver's side.

Also, if your aftermarket alarm has a function to detect the hood being opened, then you will have to ground the wire to the factory alarm and leave the wiring functional for the aftermarket alarm.

I did this and it works only problem is that I cant unlock both doors through the drivers side.
