remounting radiator for FMIC
I'm going to be installing my FMIC soon.
I know that I'm going to need to remount the radiator.
What all is needed to remount just the radiator?
I don't have AC so I will not have to dick around with it.
Any links or tips would be a great help thanks.

for the 2row you get additional mounting extensions for the bottom mounts. And pieces to attach the radiatior at the top. Very straight forward. It was pretty easy

Well if it's not a kit you'll have to make some simple brakets to extend the stock radiator perches a little. Basically you just need to have a piece of metal attached to the stock perches, that has a hole in one end, so that the radiator can fit in, then just put it upright. The top brackets should be pretty simple to make, it's easiest to mount one end to the cross member/frame (where the 4 bolts are for the front bumper) and then the other end to the stock top radiator brackets. It's basically like an "L" shape. You may need to drill some holes for some of this stuff, but it's not that hard.

I just installed a FMIC on my FD3S and took me an entire weekend to do it. My biggest trouble was the radiator and the battery. First off the radiator is, as said already, going to be upright but depending on your kit brackets it will sit at a slight angle. You will need to drill 4 holes 2 in each of the original radiator mounts and then bolt down the new extension and upright radiator mounts. Once you've done that you will need to relocate your battery, if you don't want to do that than MAKE SURE your battery is small enough to fit in there. When you put the radiator back in the battery will hit the fan. What I did with my car is cut the battery tray up and shorten it on the sides and than bolt it down raised slightly and sitting long ways vise the original placement of the battery. I admitt it, I ghetto rigged a battery tie down for my battery but it works and my batter is so big that it is just slightly bushing on the back housing of my radiator fan, but it all fits. So make sure you are paying attention to that battery first and formost. Once you've done all that then just start putting things back in. I Recommend putting the radiator in and then leaving bolts out so you can move it freely and put the first of the FMIC pipes in to make sure that everything will fit right and the pipes will have enough room to go in between the radiator and the front frame support. There is one other head ache I forgot to mention, power steering line... hopefully your kit has a new line to replace the old one that sits in front of the A/C condensor, you WILL need this if you still want A/C. What I did was right above both axles on the front there are hoses connection to hard lines for power steering. just unhook both sides and pull the power steering line out. You will need to do some cutting on one of the hoses to get it to work unless your new line fits in there better than mine did. Becarful with the A/C too. I am not the best mechanic and don't know much about A/C so I pulled the hard line from my A/C condensor and out sprayed all of my A/C lol. But thats okay. Last but not least, You will have some trouble depending on the model of your car, twin or single turbo, with the filters on the turbo's. If you have a strut tower bar you probably will have to take it off unless you have custom turbo manifold and pipeing. What I had to do was pull off the upper stock plastic/rubber tubing that goes to the manifold and use a shoter part of it and just hook the filter directly up to it. Without doing that my filters would sit on top of eachother and the hood would not shut. So until I can get some custom pipes made my rigging will have to do for now. Thats all I can think of for the moment. It was funny putting it in. Just make sure you have patience for it cause some times it will suck, IE: here in Okinawa Japan every bolt and nut likes to rust, so I had to use a hacksaw to saw off most of my bolts on my front bumper to get it off.

I have the stock turbo inlet pipe for the primary turbo, and then for the secondary I have a polished aluminum intake pipe that was meant for a 300ZX, but it fits absolutley perfectly. I mean perfectly, it's insane, no fitment problems with the IC piping at all. Best of luck

When i was doing this a bunch of people told me to just bend the stock holders up and use those...i used a grinder and a hammer and did that but it seemed a little high...maybe it would have worked but i didn't give it a chance. I just went to home depot and made brackets. pretty easy.
