remapped ecu

just out of curiosity......


how do you tell a remapped ecu from a stock ecu

for example, pettit and m2

They should have a sticker on the case. Inside the case will be additional daughterboards.

so in other words...... openning up the case and looking inside is the only way to find out?

Its the only way to find out for sure. Like rynberg said, usually there is a sticker on the outside case...but if not and you have reason to think it is remapped, or if there is a sticker but you question its validity, then you're right...you have to take off the cover, remove the screws that hold the main board, and fold it back (the two boards are connected to one another via a flexible cable) to see if the daughter board is present.

jds, i can see in your sig that you have a remapped ecu? who was it made of.... and did you ever open it?
