Relays???

well guys, tested the fuel pump out of the car and its good.

my friend tested the electrical, and car doesnt get 12v to prime the fuel pump, when i put key in the on position, his rx7 does get 12v, and it also primes.

any ideas what relay is in charge of priming the fuel pump when the key is in the on position.

btw. his relays click over different when he puts his car in on pos...
and we switched out his relays with mine and it doesnt change anything.

my fuel pump works when i try to crank it over, but there is not enough pressure to start,

IIRC, the fuel pump relay is next to the pos bat terminal, it has a rubber hood like the fan relays

No, the fuel pump relay is under the air intake 'snorkel', in that bank of relays.

Something else is going on with the orginal poster's car. We need more information, as in was it running and just died? What were the symptoms, etc.

Also, we need to know if there are any engine codes being displayed. I suggest the original poster do this FIRST and let us know what, if any, codes show up.

guys the "fuel pump" relay near the bumper only controls speed bypassing the resistor. fp is turned on by the main relay as was said earlier /\

if the relay is not momentarily closing when you put the key to on is it because the relay is getting no pwer from the ignition switch or no ground signal from the ecu?

the pump does run when the car is cranked??

yes the car does run while cranked.

well i ended up stupidly boosting it when it was cold one day, about 3 weeks ago.
white smoke came out like i warped a seal.

it still ran perfect the whole week and into the next week.

one day i just noticed when i turn the key, it wouldnt start the first time, so i turned it again and it started.
it got worse as time went on, like it wouldnt start unless i gave it gas or something.
so i thought A: it was either being flooded everytime, B: clogged injector, C: leaky injector.

it would start right up the first try when it was cold, only when its hot i had a pain in the a**

it was so bad when i drove to a gas station or something, shut off the car, i would have to push start it.

than one day, i noticed when going to the gas station, it wouldn't boost past 5,
than i thought i had a boost leak.
than a day later i get up for work and YUP< no start, at all, just cranks. like no fuel.

so i checked everything, and figured out my fuel pump isn't turning on. i checked all wires, everything was good no fuses blown. i jumpstarted the fuel pump and it worked fine. but no prim while its in the car. it would only run when i try to crank it.

thanx for all help, all ideas are wanted. this is my daily driver, and only car.
