Reinforced Shift Spindle apply to 1996 fds?

Hi everyone, I just blew my fifth gear syncro couples day ago and is planning to do a rebuild with the bk199 kit and there was some mentioning about reinforced shift spindle and some other parts for the fd that applies to USDM FDs... should I do those on my 1996 JDM FD also? Or those parts are already reinforced from 96 onwards?

Thanks alot.

Some of those minor changes with later JDM cars aren't well documented. I sure don't know if that's the case.

This part here -

I know Mazda changed it, it basically is the spring that pushes back against the shifter when you push the shift lever to the right (like going to 5th/reverse). The stiffer spring keeps you from accidentally shifting to 5th from 2nd which is how the 5th gear synchro breaks.

It will incorporated in the later boxes. Dunno what bk199 is, but if you're going into the box very far, be aware syncros changed along the way, mazda epc ru, should detail part numbers for V III and V IV cars.
