Regular maintainance

Well im new to the rx-7 world and was wondering the best products to use for my car. It's daily driven and i do raise hell in it every now and then. What i want to know is what are the best spark plugs to use?....best oil(brand, wae and filter)....best coolant....best brake/clutch fluid...and stuff like that. Just wanna keep everything running ok and all. Also what are things i should regularly check in the engine bay? Oh yea.....Sometimes ill shift into second at a lower speed...around 20 or so it will feel like ir grinds sometimes.......why is that? All the other gears are ok. Thanks alot.....ANY help with ANYTHING is greatly appreciated. Thanks again

I'd use 10w30 in cold weather and something around 20w50 in the summer as far as oil. (Synthetic is OK) I recommend changing every 2 months minimum, maybe even more often. Rotary engines actually burn oil rather than processing it. (also i would change oil filter every time you change oil, just to be safe)

I'd recommend replacing plugs and wires with NGK plugs and MSD wires...

Make sure to use 91 octane gas to get best performance, smoothest drive, and longer lasting engine.

Also the reason for grinding is usally one of two things. You are actually missing the gear and not hitting the right spot or you are downshifting to a gear that isnt right for your speed. Im not sure if 2nd gear does this but I'm positive that 1st gear has that protection.

Also just to have your car more reliable to prevent anything from going wrong, i'd get your AST either replaced or bypassed to prevent cracking. (http://66.216.67.51/product.asp?0=352&1=353&3=675) Also get your vaccum hoses replaced with a silicon setup. (http://www.hosetechniqeues.com)

Yup, what they said. I run mobil 1 15w-50, I just did my 2k change this morning. I use OEM oil filter.

Go ahead and do ngk 9's on all fours if you're bone stock, I change them about every 4k miles. I stick w/ the OEM wire plugs as well.

Not sure on coolant. I did change mine to a 80/20% water/anit-freeze mix, but I hear good things on evans coolant. Check in on that.

I'm not really sure on gear change/speed as well. I usually shift at about 2.5k-3krpm's on daily driving.

Also use some protek-r, or marvel mystery oil mix every gas fill up and replace your fuel filter.

Downpipe, boost gauge and temp gauge. All this stuff and a little more care is what a FD needs . Eh, I know I'm forgetting other stuff, but eh.

You change your plugs every 4k miles?! never heard of someone doing it so frequently...i thought 15k was the rule of thumb. anyone else care to throw in how often they do so? thanks
