Exclamation Red heat light??

Hi.

I'm running 97 Japanese import rx-7 Efini. I have a small problem in that I have a red warning light coming on from time to time. The light is beside the hand brake light and the graphic on it looks like a coil with HEAT written below. There is an explanation for this light on the visor but it is in Japanese and I cant understand it. Can anyone shed any light on this for me??????

Backwood.

It is a sensor mounted underneath the carpet on the passenger... well in a RHD car the driver side of the car. It measures the radiating heat from the main-cat converter and if it senses an excess of (I tihnk 200 degrees) it will send off the warning lamp. If you are not driving the car very hard when this happens it is possible you have a clogged cat.
