Red Fluid?

Hi, just wondering what the red fluid that goes through the metal pipe under the radiator is? I accidently disconnected the hose and it spilled out on me, just need to know if its someting to worry about (bleeding brakes, tranny fluid, etc...) thanks.

that would be the power steering fluid as scotty stated. just buy a bottle and fill it to the top, then turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and all the way to the right so the air bubbles can come out. then fill it to the line and screw the cover back on.

...and then go take an auto shop class. Being ignorant is excusable, but choosing to remain ignorant isn't.

It's funny how you act like you know everything even by saying go take a shop class but yet you started this thread. What gives...

Moving car from street --> driveway: warm up or not?
Hey gurus, for a super-short trip, something like 50-100 feet, would it be better to just drive the car cold for a few seconds and then shut it off? I know a lot of wear takes place while the car is still cold, due to clearances being out of whack and seals not being lubed well and jazz like that. So rather than spend a few minutes with the engine cold waiting for it to warm up , wouldn't it be better to spend 30 seconds pulling into the driveway/garage and then shutting back off?

I know this isn't exactly the type of subject this forum usually discusses, but it would be nice to hear some others' perspectives on this also.

If you have an automatic, then you have a tranny cooler up there. Red fluid could be ATF.

You could als follow the line back and see for yourself where the line goes. It would save you some flamage.

Im not home right now... I had to take my turbos out and I finished just before I had to leave for school... so I never really had the time to take to track everything down, I was stressed out enough from taking the turbos out (about 10 hours). Its manual, and after further research I believe it is pwr steering... I just wantd to be sure. Sorry if it was a stupid question, but better safe than sorry.
