Red 3rd Gen Paint Question

I was talking to a fellow owner today and he told me that he thought his car had had the front clip repainted - then he saw mine and assumed it was normal.

My car had been in an accident and I had always assumed that the front clip of my car is a slightly different shade of red than the rest of the car because of the accident.

The 'border' line seems to be right at the front seam of the doors.

Does anyone elses red car look like it is two shades of red?

Sounds like a repaint. I've owned like 6 red FDs, none of them do that.

What you might see on an original paint car is the headlight covers and bumper cover are a different shade of red.

Otherwise FYI, base models and R1s are a different color VR on 93s. Not sure about 94s. If the shop used the wrong paint code then you could also end up with different color panels.

My front and rear bumpers are considerably darker than the rest of the car. I have always assumed that the red paint fades quicker on the steel than on the plastic.
