received power fc in mail today, doesnt turn on, unit or car?

i purchased a jdm power fc and received it today. i purchased my car as a project car and have not gotten it to run yet, there is something funky going on with the electrical system so i decided to purchase a computer to rule out my old one as being fried. i plugged my commander into the fc unit and nothing comes up on the screen. i dont know if there are any fuses in the car that would not be working as to where the power fc would not turn on? i did not cut the 4 wires as i am supposed to because i cannot find a diagram anywhere, even though that should not matter to the unit turning on. if anyone has a link to that diagram also it would be appreciated. but my main concern is that i cant get the commander to turn on and i really dont know where to start backtracking to find the end problem. any help would be awesome. thanks

Sorry to offend if you've done this, but is the key in the ON position?

Read my PowerFC FAQ -

http://www.clubrx.org/media/pfc/PowerFC_FAQ.pdf

That will tell you all about what wires to cut, etc. But, you should be able to get the PFC to fire up without cutting those wires.

If the ECU is not powering up, time to start troubleshooting. Go through all the fuses in the car, both under the hood and under the dash.
