recalibrate or adjust the TB....

Installed a polished UIM last week. Took the TB off along with all the solenoids that reside underneath the UIM and installed everything back on the polished UIM.

Getting erratic hesitation while trying to accelerate. It won't rev past 3500rpm. All vacumm hoses are where they should be.

It turns on and idles great. Just won't accelerate without major hesitation and cut-off. Seems as if the engine is getting irregular fuel feed.

What is the probable diagnosis??

Your ECU might be in limp mode. Try resetting it to see if that cures it.

You might check your TPS:

Thanks Mahjik. Adjusting the TPS seems a little complicated to me. I think I'll just drop the car off Monday morning at the local Mazda service department and hope for the best.

Another thing is that while I was out of town last week, my son drove the car to the store and confessed that he might have put 87 octane fuel in the car. The problems didn't start till after he filled the car with gasoline. I've always fed it 93 octane. Anyway, I want to thank you and patriick for the great advise.

It was the fuel.

Apparently the last time my son put fuel in it, it was either bad fuel ,..or he just poured lower octane (87??) in it. This morning I replaced all 4 NGK plugs in it before taking it to the fuel station.

The plugs didn't change a thing. I barely made it to the fuel station 1/2 mile away.

I poured 5 gallons of 93 octane, ..turned it on and drove off. The sputter/hesitation instantly disappeared. It Was The Fuel. :]
