So how do I take it apart I am away from the car spending quality time with the inlaws bored out of my mind. How do you remove the glass from the hatch.

I watched it being done once, when I had to replace the seal due to leaking. They basically used a wire saw to cut the old sealant out, lifted it out, cleaned up the frame, and reinstalled it along with a new seal.

 

Use a guitar string... Get it through at 1 point and just have a buddy and you pull it all around. There's also the knives they use for windshield but that usually cracks up the glass. Wooden dowel on both ends of the string (or chord) and just cut around. Scrap off all the old crap.

 

Harbor Freight tools sells the windshield knife cheap.
