rear window defroster not working.. suggestions plz?

rear window defroster not working.. suggestions plz?
So I was driving home last night (im 100 miles away from 100k mi on odometer *sigh*) and my rear window fogged up. When i turn on the defroster it barely clears up the window, if at all. Only a certain section of the window defrosts. What can i do to fix this problem?? all suggestions welcome

checking you connections would be a start. there should be one on the top of the window to the right and another i think is tucked into your ceiling. they should pull right out
