Rear secondary injector issue.

So this problem developed last fall and has gotten worse since. I should first state that the car runs great when cruising and moderate throttle out of boost.

It first started out as feeling like a lean condition in boost, then went to flooding the rear rotor when entering boost (right at the transition) for a couple seconds and then smooth out. I parked it for the winter and figured it was a sticking injector.

Ordered a new set, installed them this spring. As soon as I went key on, engine off the rear secondary would dump fuel. Reached for noid light to try to find a short to ground on the signal side maybe? unplugged and went to test, problem went away, no issue. Went for a drive and just transitioning to the secondaries it would instantly dump and keep dumping for 10-15 seconds, lots of smoke and odd looks from other drivers.

I thought maybe the injector driver screwed off so I swapped PFC's, same issue. After that I purchased a like new engine harness, made a proper single turbo harness from it. While removing my old harness I noticed that I tapped power for the FJO from the rear secondary (affected injector) power wire. I moved power for the FJO right to the fuse box and used another input/output on the FJO for the rear secondary injector.

Cleaned all grounds on harness and eng to body. Started up great, went for a r/t eased into boost no problem. Went for a second pull 2nd gear with ease, 3rd gear 15psi great all the way to 7500rpm, induced a smile or two.

Went back to the shop, put back a couple trim panels for the comp, drove home, eased into boost again getting onto the hwy, same thing. One rotor, figured maybe need to adjust the transition being new injectors, tried again, nope.

Back to square one. Same ****. Hitting my head against the wall. Maybe a bummed out FJO? or is it another issue now. Didn't see the great cloud of smoke out the back end this last time. Just want to state that I'm not beating on it when it's acting up,(0.04kg/cm2) tops, don't want to blow it up.

Any help or tips would be great. List of mods if it helps.

Street port, emissions removed, 35R, straight through 3", HKS super dragger, stock primaries, 1680 secondaries, Supra pump (rewired), FJO injector driver, HKS twin power, AEM meth injection, PFC, single turbo harness, battery relocated to trunk, new plugs, wires, fuel filter as of today.

Sorry about the length of the thread, just wanted to provide all I know sofar.

Thanks

Andrew

I would compression test the motor first to rule out a seal issue. The I would ditch the FJO and 1680cc injectors and get some proper EV14 or ID injectors. I have had similar issues with the fjo driver. If you are insistent on keeping it check all your wiring. I had another car that had a loose wire to an fjo driver and did something similar.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm going to test my input and output signals tonight with a couple if noid lights to see if I'm loosing my pulse on the output and verify I am getting a pulse output from the PCM. Did a comp test yesterday. All is normal with the engine.

So I'm 99% sure I have a half dead fjo. I haven't swapped out with known good unit to prove it but the noid light test did show that I have a proper signal going into it and occaisionally a weak signal or no signal at all comming out. Explains why there's no crazy smoke this time around.

I wouldn't say it's time to close the case on this just yet. Kinda bummed out but I guess it's time to upgrade. Any recomendations on where to get some ev14 that would fit a KG secondary rail?
