Question Reading your Spark Plugs?

I changed out all my plugs to 9's today.

The leading plugs (7s) were pretty darn black (which means i'm running rich)

The trailling plugs (9s) were the funny ones. They were half black, and half brown/tan. Any clue? It's as if someone drew a line in the middle and split the colors. I figure the black half was the one facing the leading plugs.

Anyone have a clue what this means?

Thanks for the help in advance.
