RE: R1 strut bar hardware
RE: R1 strut bar hardware.
The nuts & bolts on the R1 bar are old. Not only that, but one of the bolts is snapped/sheared.
I need the nut & bolt that holds the bar to the end plates.
Can these bolts be re-ordered?
And if so, what is the part number(s)?
I need the driver's side nut and bolt.
Also, what are the torque specs for all of the nuts involved w/ installation?
Thanks!!!
Dom

You could also get good quality replacement bolts, washers, & nuts at a bolt supply place, a Home Depot, Lowes, or McMaster-Carr. There is not much stress on these, so getting OE or grade-8, etc., is not necessary.

I also found the link to the Parts fiche (Thanks DamonB).

However, numbnut #1 at Sierra Mazda in Monrovia apparently needed the last 6 digits of my VIN in order to figure out which parts it was. I didn't have the VIN on me, so subsequently said I would call back.
Numbnut # 2 at Alhambra Mazda in Alhambra was worse. He didn't know which parts I needed. Told me I couldn't place the order over the phone, and I had to go there in person so that he could order the parts for me. He also ESTIMATED that I'm looking at $20 in parts (and if it were more...I don't know if I could call him out on his guarantee). Needless to say, he was just lazy and didn't want to look up the parts that I needed.
Ray w/ Malloy is the man! He knew exactly which parts I needed (I didn't ask for parts numbers...I guess I should've.). Anyways, the hardware for the bar totals $36.62 for the two acorn nuts/bolts on the bar ends. If I get the part numbers, I'll be sure to post it.
I also found the torque values here.
