RE Amemiya FD3s RX-7 Japanese Build Debut w/ YouTube Video!
Hey guys, wanted to share with you my latest build. I didn't build it myself, it was all done in Japan. I wanted it that way to keep it authentic. It is an authentic RE Amemiya AD-GT build. I'll go into details about the build in another post. But I wanted to share a video of it. I hired a pretty bad *** director to capture my car while its still in Japan so I have a keepsake of it from where it was built and customized. Luke Huxham is the director of this video in case anyone wants to know. I wanted the video to be authentic to the era of this car and I knew Luke could do that. I didn't want a stanced out video with fast transitions and dance music. I wanted something timeless and classic as the car is itself. I hope you guys enjoy the video. It is premiering tomorrow at 7pm central.
Thanks! I hope you guys watch it. I've always wanted to do something like this. Be able to buy an actual JDM FD3S and have it built there and brought over here. I will have more videos and photos of it when I get it to Houston.
Haha I think I know exactly where that Karaoke-Kan (karaoke parlor) is! Pretty sure I've gone inside and belted out a few tunes Used to walk down that street many times.
Talk about an ambitious endeavor! Looking forward to the video premier. I'm sure it'll bring back lots of memories for me.
Wow. I'm really looking forward to this. I'm one of those old guys that loves to see American FDs stay stock looking and thinks that only the Japanese tuners have the credibility to do these builds. And we should all hold them in high esteem. Ok that was dramatic. Lol. looks like the seats in this car are white. That's pretty cool. I'd say this FD might be the highest valued FD in the US.

Thanks! The seats are original Mazdaspeed seats from Recaro. I definitely wanted to have a record of its history in Japan before it leaves its home country.
Wowzers this is the stuff some dreams are made of! I had always day-dreamt about what it might be like to either commission or somehow acquire a pure-bred Amemiya vehicle myself. I bet the whole process was quite the experience.
Build looks very fine and appears to have a nice blend of period and modern parts. Although the vehicle appears to be awesome I unfortunately have to admit the video is not for me. While the production value is high, anytime I hear hip-hop style music cued to the background of a car video I assume its' target audiences are teens and young adults. As well as anything associated with speed hunters as their writers are absolutely terrible.
Congrats on the new shop car acquisition and thank you very much for sharing. Definitely a treat!

What's done to the motor, I'm assuming its still stock twins? BTW, you have a AD-GT II kit, not the AD-GT kit as your rear quarters slope downwards towards the back. If this car was built at RE Amemiya's shop it should have the build plaque on the firewall with a serial number. Cool purchase.
Thanks for the kind words, however I don't think we watched the same video. lol There is no hip-hop music in it at all. There is however a lounge bar type beat.

Thanks, I'm not an expert and don't claim to be. Thanks for clarifying, I was too vague for the experts.
