radio trim pieces and low volume issue on stock clarion

2 quick questions:
I have been on a fool's errand to get a stock radio working in my R1 FD Rx7. All the radios I had purchased were not operational, but one of the recyclers / vendors made 1 working unit out of 3.

1. My radio works, but the volume is low. It is about 50% of what is should be. The speakers are new, and the aftermarket radio that was in the car before worked fine, with proper volume. I had already checked the volume ****, took it off, and I have full range of motion. It goes from nothing to kinda audible, but only at moderate volume. Is the internal amplifier borked? The installer is stumped.
2. Somewhere in the process....the trim pieces on the side of the radio got lost. Does anyone know of a source? Here is a pic of the gap that appears in mine, and also a pic of radio with the trim pieces pictured (from this forum). Do I hunt for new or used, and where?

Thanks in advance

There is a company called United Radio that repairs radios and clusters. We use them all the time. I recommend calling them. They should be able to repair it for you.

Oooohhh! Based on a tip....I found that the Side covers available at $11.66 ea
# FD01-66-BC4
Yay!

I might try United Radio again, or just leave well enough alone. Radio is audible, with the windows up and without too much a/c or road noise....
