Radio randomly turns on and off, what could be the cause?

Well my radio randomly turns on and off as well as what ever is plugged into my cig lighter. They dont always go out at the same time but i would say about 25% of the time it is both that go out. Sometimes the radio turns right back on and sometimes it stays off for awhile before coming back on. What could cause this?

My only thought is maybe my oddesy battery is not strong enough or it is going bad.

First idea would be a wiring connection is bad.

Maybe you've got a friendly ghost that needs a "light"?

My first instinct would be a bad ground wire assuming that they are on the same circuit.

Check the service manual wiring section and look for common points.

If there are any mods on your car like guages, etc... be aware that the cig lighter circuit is a commonly-tapped one to run things like this.... so it is more likely that a ground wire is messed up/got loose.

Let us know what you find!
