Radio and every light in the car went out.

I was driving around today when suddenly my radio cut out and never came back on again. When I parked the car at home I noticed that I didn't have any dome lights, no turn signals, no tail lights, no headlights, and no dash lights but everything else on the car works perfect. It runs perfect, starts up no problem, etc. What could the problem be that would take out only the radio and every light in the car.

Are you sure you checked EVERY one? I had this happen for the Dash and AC controls and it turned out it was the Sunroof fuse, and I dont even have a sun roof. So I never checked that one until I decided to literally check every fuse.

Good advice on checking the relays up front. Or maybe you wiggled a ground loose. But does sound like you blew something.

I took every single fuse out and checked them, and every fusible link. I dont think there is one fuse that would take out every light in the car, they are on different fuses. Funny thing is my cigarette lighter still works and my a/c, fan controls, etc. just no lights.

Another funny thing is that the tail lights and brake lights don't work at all unless I click the alarm button. They blink like usual when I press the alarm button but other than that they never work.

Wow sounds like you have a nice electrical mess going on.

If you can get a multimeter and check some things that are supposed to be on and back track it if its not getting power. Probaly a relay, I would test the relays you have with a resistance multimeter and go from there.

Hope this helps.

Body Electrical Troubleshooting manual in the stickies has step-by-step diagnostic procedures that work pretty well in identifying failed electrical components.

So you have some aftermarket electrical goodies? They could be causing some problems if installed incorrectly.

I remember your car having some pretty tight clearance between the wheels and the front fender liners. Check to see if the front harness is ok.

his front harness has got chopped up by that wheel before! maybe its doing it again, or one of the wires is crossing under that fender! I would guess the problem is under there! I know you patched it up a few times.

hope you find the issue.

I fixed the harness a while ago and haven't had any problems since but I might take everything apart again and redo it just to make sure I didn't miss anything. The tires haven't damaged any harnesses in a while though. I'll check the relays also with my multimeter.

Well when you do take out the front harness completely, there is a way to route it into the chassis itself and through the headlights area. It gets tricky around the headlights. It would solve possible rubbing issues.
