Radiator Replacement

Ok, here I go.

I never done this before and if I can, I wish to sit down one day and install my new koyo radiator by myself.

I don't want to bring it in the shop cause I don't want to spend the money i saved up incase the car falls apart, nor do I like the fact that I don't get the refreshing feeling when the work is done and I say to myself, " I just installed something on my car today".

Anyway, whats the difficulty as far as installing a radiator?

I looked at the stock one and it seems its a bit different then the aftermarket since its angled a bit, plus there are 2 more on the sides.

Also, as far as the greddy elbow with the bov flange, is it worth it? Like how does the bov sound anyway for the one on the greedy elbow?

The intercooler piping I was going to buy just now, but realized there is no point spending $200 if I get the same piping when I get a new intercooler.

Anyway back to my main question. Whats the difficulty level for a radiator replacement?

What would I have to do?

peice of Cake!!!!The hardest part is getting the intercooler out. Ive been cleaning up my engine bay though. All I needed to do was remove my pettit intake, ast, and remove the bolts from the bracket on the a/c condenser, you should be able to pull the condenser straight up out of the intercooler duct, then you can move it all over the place, just be careful not to kink the lines. then just unbolt the intercooler and work it out. Its best to work from the top. The manual says to do it under the car "that would be a pain in the ***". My battery is relocated, so I dont know if might run into problems there. Good luck and if you have any questions just pm me.

Do a search under Koyo.

You will have to reverse the brackets to get the Koyo to fit properly. Other than that, it shouldn't be that difficult.

The hardest thing about the prodecure will be filling the car back up with coolant -- MAKING SURE to get all the air back out of the system. You can run a search for that too....

I would replace both upper and lower radiator hoses and the thermostat while I was doing the radiator replacement. These parts don't cost much -- get them from Mazdaformance or Malloy Mazda.
