Rad&smic Review

I just wanted to post my results after installing my large smic and koyo radiator. Other peoples info helped me decide to buy so blah blah blah...

The installation was simple. the only problem was getting to koyo to fit. I have heard of people fliping the radiator mounts and this that and the other... all I did was flaten down the bottom L-shaped brackets. Mouted the top brackets just like the stock ones. after that, it fit in like a glove. I had no problem getting the duct for the IC to fit, like others have. Relocating the battery was also pretty easy. It only cost me 70$ or so. Well worth the extra 5 or 6 inches of intercooler.

As far as performance, There is a huge difference in cooling over stock. when I had the stock ic I could literly watch my intake temps rise at WOT. Now they barely move. For instance with stock IC a 40mph to 140 pull would yeild intake temps in the 60C and 70 degree range in 80f+ degree weather. now My temps after repeated hard boosting have never gone over 50 and normally stay in the 40s in 80f+ degree weather. I've even seen the temp drop 4 or 5 degrees at wot. It does heat soak like a bitch but not near as bad as the stock ic

As far a water temps, they to are much better. Since the rad. was installed I have been beat'n the hell out of my fd on local back roads and haven't seen my temps above 90. when stock I if drove like I have been I would see temps in the mid 90's. my fans also run all the time.

All readings were taken off the pfc with stock sensors. Hope this helps some one. peace
