Racing Beat's Flame Sprayed Aluminum Housings

Anyone have experience with these housings? What would the total weight savings be? How does the weight reduction affect handling?

your money would be better spent on a smaller battery removing your ac,ps and buying some good shocks. if you have done all that and are an excellent driver, aren't we all, then go for it. but they extremely expensive for the weight savings

It's not all about the weight savings though. It appears that the flame spraying also has an affect on the wear of the housings. If the housing would be reusable if and when the apex seals blow, it might be worth spending the extra money on.

At $1000 + per Housing (3 reqd for a 2 rotor) w NO PORTS (The housings are cast for PP engines) It is just not worth it for anything but a full RACE car where you are spending the SPONSORS $$ Also they would not be legal in any Production Class only full on Unlimited Clases or maybe GT-1/2?

The flame spraying only allows the aluminum to be as durable as the heavy metal pieces it is replacing - I don't think they are more durable or have other benefits, its simply a weight issue
