Racing Beat or Pettit Exhaust System!!!

I was curious if someone could give me the low down on these two exhaust: racing beat and pettit , are they basically made the same way?

How do they sound?

Also does the duals in both racing beat and pettit, sound the same? Is there any difference in the sound from singles and duals in both brands?

Thanks everyone,
Leo

get the racing beat one. I've seen the pettit before and the quality is nowhere near that of racing beat exhaust

Go with the RB. It's a beauty, all the power you desire and has just the perfect volume.

I've had the RB single-tip for many years. Excellent quality and a relatively quiet unit compared to many others.

Thanks for the reply guys, I was curious what is your preference on the dual and single tip? Is there a lot of difference in sound between the dual and the single? Thanks

I have the Pettit cat-back with their SS downpipe and the stock main cat. The car is loud, but not obnoxious. I bought the car with the exhaust already on it, and I may change it in the future only because I do not like the immense size of the tip, which I believe is 5 1/4".

Racing Beat Dual Tip rules! The Pettit is a Borla. It's ok, but not as good as the RB...

I went with Racing Beat..so get the Petit so there'll be one less RB on the road.

Just kiddin', I listened to all the sound clips..and the RB Dual tip sounds just exactly like what I want. I don't want constant harassment by the cops or complaints for my neighbors.

RB with midpipe

Borla XR-1 with RB
http://www.gt3540.com/vids/exhaust/rb_borla_rev.avi

You also might want to check the stick up at the top of the page for sound clips...

True, I might have not picked up the most powerful exhaust...but it's definetly WELL designed, and beautiful. It's quality. And it' has the perfect low grumble, too it. I don't want a rice rocket.

Also..I think the tips of the exhaust are great...they don't get too hot thanks to their design, so they don't turn black, etc...

I'm drooling in anticipation to hear my car when it's finished with it's current upgrade.

i have the pettit dual tip and i love it. looks and sounds stock, until you get on it! sound is very tolerable, even with a midpipe. i don't really like the big single coffee can, looks like rice, sounds like rice, but that's just my opinion. oh and a large single tip draws a lot of attention, good if it's from the ladies, bad if it's from the boys in blue.

I love my Pettit dual tip, it sounds great. Honestly from what I've always heard the RB dual tip and the Pettit dual tip is the same piece. The quality on the Pettit exhaust is excellent and I'm sure the RB is the same. I'd say go with which ever has the nicest looking tips and the best price cause they are pretty much the same thing. Or at least they used to be. Either way I'm sure you'll like either

Really though in all honesty its hard to compare exhaust notes because the tuning makes a HUGE difference in your exhaust sound and most people are running different tuning and different mods.

Just for top speed, I'd imagine if anyone else was interested in major top speed runs it could be beat because there are definatly much faster/more powerful cars. Its just that they are all into drag racing. Dont get me wrong, they know what they are doing, but I wouldnt use the top speed run to indicate they are the best at pulling power out of the 13B....if thats even what they used

I have a HKS DP and the Pettit CB but I think it's extremely quiet compared to my friends auto with a pre-cat, cat' and Apex'i GT. There is only a slight drone but very subtle and the tone is low and deep. It's surprising that it sets off alarms. I was alot louder when I had an exhasut leak but I replaced the gasket, crush washers and nuts. I think the single tip is old school ricey as well and I would choose the duals but it came with the car. I think the can is probably dynomax. I thought it was Borla but only one side is offset (the 5&1/4 polished tip is centered).

I have a RB dual tip for sale, but the tips are damaged. The rest of the exhaust, including the canister itself, is still good. Just the nice tips that say Racing Beat are messed up. But I'm sure it could be repaired. If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you some pix. I'm only asking $200.00 plus shipping. Laterz.
