R1 build up.....Thank you all

Hi All,

Just picked up my first rotary (R1) from the shop after a rebuild (engine only for now). I bought it with a blown engine and as per your suggestions (in the forum) got some reliability mods done to the car. The car was pretty much stock when I bought it. The following is what I ended up getting done:

- Street ported motor (series 6) - nitrided seals
- Bolt on Blitz intercooler
- Brand new twin turbos (not 99 spec)
- Microtech Lt10 Series 6
- New radiator
- AST
- Wideband aem
- Down pipe (3")
- cat back exhaust (3")
- Razo shift ****
- Cryo kit for the intercooler (came with the car when I bought it)
- Wideband and boost guages on the pillar (not istalled yet but will come soon)

Right now the car is tuned to cut off at 5000rpm and about 5lbs of boost (till I break the engine in). I plan to put about 1500KMs on it for breaking in the engine before I go for a full tune up.

I drove the car for the first time ever yesterday and I was in tears . If the car runs this well while it is restricted I can only imagine what it will be like when it is fully tuned. Really looking forward to hanging onto the car for a long long time. That is another reason why I decided not to modify the car too much.

I think I pretty much have everything that was suggested froma reliability stand point, but please let me know if I have missed anything.....

My appologies if I took too much of you time but i just felt that I had to share this with fellow rotary enthusiasts.......

More to come.......
- new wheels/tires (stagered configuration)
- coilovers
- extreme dimensions full kit
- new coat of black on the whole car........

I can barely hold my excitement. Rotary all the way babyyyyyyyyy...

That's great to here that you are keeping a great car and tastefully modding it..Is the Blitz intercooler a stock mount?

Congrats on getting the car back. Is your car a JDM car? Given the Microtech, I presume the engine build was done by Forcefed?

Thanks you G's, I will.

Are you getting 370+ HP on stock everything? I am not sure what to expect when I get a full tune done. I will post the dyno sheet once it is all complete......
