Keep in mind to run the Apex'i ATS silencer, you need one of the Apex'i exhausts. Funny how that works out

Cuddlebear, stop being a sissy.......next Deal's Gap Rotary Rally I want you to ride shotgun in my R1 at least once through the Dragon
We will have fun this year at the dragon, I will be on the same turbo kit as you(I just need to find time to install mine) and hopefully capable breaks. Im actually just glad to be driving my own fd for a change. Its been awhile since I have taken one over to 8k+ rpms My car is running better than expected, 14lbs right now on the stockers but only weighs about 2500lbs I have been driving it the last couple of days and realized I will never ever own another stripped down car that sees the street, ever

This is my personal car with 3"Ebay DP, Borla Resonated MP, Greddy SP, Street Port, Real Non-sequential. There may be quieter setups out there but I havent found one yet, half of what you hear with my car is an exhaust leak between the Dp/MP.
which borla resonator do you have? i have a magnaflow and i think i already blew it out... im pretty much on the same boat as the OP... i thought mine was perfect once i got the Magnaflow resonator installed but now its loudddd i think i blew it out or something??

also doesnt hks make like a flapper door type thing to close/ open the exhaust?

You're screwed. If you have a resonated midpipe already its not going to get any quieter. Even with a stock cat its not going to be very quiet.

Will a dolphin tip type exhaust help? From my understanding that's what they were designed for.

Off-topic: I couldn't find any videos so since talking about quiet 3" systems I should ask here.... Turbo back system (non resonated, no cat) with RB dual tip muffler.... Quiet or not?

I would add additional resonator or if you want add a high flow cat along with a resonator.

Here is a set up I have for the Cosmo.. I know its not an FD, but I figure 3 is louder than 2.

I replaced the Stock pre cat, 2 x resonators, 2 x cats, and 2 x stock mufflers.. This set up is louder, but not bad at all! All with SS Magnaflow resonators and mufflers.

Do these Magnaflow resonators really blow out with time?

I am dealing with the noise issue as well & I have two high flow cats and the Racing Beat muffler. On my iphone decibel meter I show 95 at idle and at cruise in 5th at 80, 100!

Miserably loud!

Here's a comparision between MDpalmer's car and mine
we both have a mild streetport and downpipe
the differences are listed in the video.
To me its important to know what the car is going to sound like upon acceleration (in case a police officer it at the same light you are). You'll notice both sound the same at idle, however the hi-flo setup is quieter upon acceleration.

I had just recently went with a RB 'presilencer' (resonated midpipe). It has gotten quieter in the past month.

Djseven can you do a vid with some rev's? I'm curious, your setup does sound really quiet.

Our exhaust is extremely quiet!

It is a 3" system, with a midpipe and back box. They arent cheap at £450 for the midpipe and £480 for the back box.

Both boxes are full repackable, are made from stainless, and will last the lifetime of the car!

As for quiet, on idle of a bridgeported engine, the fuel pump could be heard over the exhaust. All our cars need to be able to get onto the track days for testing. Our limits range from 91db to 98db and it meets this without compromising power. The same company that fabricates our systems also builds exhausts for F1 teams.

Aside from doing something with the midpipe adding a cat and a silencer, the other option, which is alittle pricey is but has good looks, nice tone, and quiet is the KS-Auto catback, I would have to dind my one RX7 Magazine, but it does something like 76ish db with a highflow cat at idle, which I believe is right around stock levels. I had to pull my off and put my FEED cb back on, just to quiet for me.... I have a audio/video of it on my computer I will post it up once I find it.

I had pretty much the same set up except a Greddy EVO. It was pretty quite and it had a nice deep tone too.
