Quick "should i be worried" thread

My map sensor line was not hooked up so the car ran like crap when i started it and the low coolant buzzer went off. While it was running like garbage my exhaust was billowing white clouds of smoke. When i hooked the line back up the idle smoothed out and the exhaust went clear again. It never smelled like coolant.

Should i be worried?

If you own an FD, you should always be worried

I wasn't concerned about the map sensor nearly as much as the white smoke and simultaneous low coolant.

They are two separate problems. I do know that the car smokes when the MAP hose falls off. How was your coolant level after the buzzer went off? has anything happened w/ the coolant since? if not, you're okay.

Sounds like more than the MAP sensor.

When the hose to the sensor falls off, it generally causes clouds of black smoke, not white.

It is really weird/rare these would happen at the same time. Just monitor your coolant levels over the next 4-5 days. Of course top it off correctly today then start monitoring it.

I drove it about 20 miles today, got it fully warmed up and boosted it (not to redline) no smoke. I'll keep an eye on it for the next few days.

Thanks everyone for your input, i appreciate it.

Same thing just happened to me.

Today I opened the AST cap to find what looks a peice of water seal stuck to the underside of it!?

Not good. I'm gonna re-fill the coolant and test again.
