When I removed the primary injector last night, I noticed the insulator crumbled and I am not sure if any fell into the engine. What would happen if a piece of the rubber grommet did fall in? Will it damage anything?

I think I got it all as I am trying to reconstruct it on the bench.

It could surely cause damage. Get a powerful vacuum cleaner such as a shop vac and start sucking. It helps if you block the other open ports while doing this.
