Quick Question, block to firewall heater hose diameter?
Hey guys, quick question. Should be an easy one (tried searching, not near my car so cant measure it myself)
Can anyone please tell me the inner diameter of the heater hose that goes from the side of the engine with the spark plugs in it to the firewall?
Mines leaking, and I would like to replace it this weekend while I have that area of the car in bits for some maintenance.
Its Friday here and we sell hose at my work- so I need to get it today while im at work (and cars not here) if im to do it this weekend..
thanks!

Ah well, times running out. I searched through dozens of pages with no luck. Searched every page of the fd3s cooling thread.
The only reference to the size I could find was through google on a v8 rx7 swap website that was selling an adapter thing that said;
"The fitting on the right is a transitional 5/8" to 3/4" heater hose splicer. This is useful on engine swaps such as an LS1 into a Mazda RX-7 because the water pump on the LS1 uses a 3/4" fitting, and Mazda RX-7 uses 5/8" heater hoses."
Iv grabbed some 16mm id heater hose, and also 19mm id heater hose to be safe, and also some stainless T-clamps to suit..
Ill update this thread for info sake with the correct size when I get into it as it dosen't seem to be anywhere online.

OEM Mazda hose is the best way. If you rigged something up to get by, I would replace in the near future with a good new stock hose.

that is known to fail, some take it off completely and put the hose directly on while others disagree with that and insist on the plastic piece. it is personal preference on what you decide to do. it is most likely brittle and will snap the rest of the way off, if you want to keep it call ray at malloy he knows the part number.

thanks guys! will order a new one. Iv got time to get it sorted properly
Yea the plastic nipple snapped completly off when removing the hose. Glad it didnt happen while driving!
At least my stock hose is still fine, I now realise the non moulded hose wont work so well and the stock hose is the way to go
cheers
