I was wondering if there was a big diffrence between the autos and the manuals, besides smoking the tires out and doughnuts. I know some of you must have driven both so I was curious to see if you manual guys would ever consider an automatic? I have a turboII right know, it's the first manual car I have ever owned, and I like it and all but I want to know If I could still pull just as much power with the convienience of an auto? In simpler terms could I be just as bad *** with an auto?

auto trannies cannot handle as much power as manual trannies.

 

also, the autos have taller rear end gear ratios than the 5 speed. 3.90 as opposed to 4.10.

 

If you just want to go fast with an auto, go buy a musclecar (camaro, mustang). If you want to drive a SPORTS car, then learn to appreciate the involvement and control you can only get with a manual.
