Quick Boost Controller Question - Need Help ASAP!

Ok Im installing the Profec B this morning and almost everything is done except this one step:

7. On the back side of the wastegate is a small hose that runs up to the engine. That is what lets the ECU control boost. Pull the hose off the end of the wastegate and cap the nipple on the wastegate. You can let the hose dangle, there is no need to remove it.

Im having trouble figuring out which hose this is and where exactly its located. If anyone has a pic or a good way of explaining where it is Id really appreciate it. Need the car to go to work today in an hour so maybe I can figure it out before that!

Here's a quote from one of the members regarding the install....

Profec b install
1.Remove air box or aftermarket intake.
2.Mount the Profec black box or Actuator behind the headlight.
3. Run the wire into the car through the firewall or through the steering column boot.
4 Mount the controller on the drivers side of the car. I chose under the steering wheel were the little A/C vent is that blows into your BIG JUICY VINN-A-RINO CROTCH, or lack thereof Just pull out the vent or cut it and velcro the profec under there.
5. Now hook up the power and ground wire. Run the power wire down to the drivers side kick panel. There is a fuse box you can tap into. Just remove one of the fuses and slip the wire in between the fuse and puch it back in.
6. Now its time to hook up the black box. Look down at the turbo and you will notice 2 small hoses that run from the actuator to the wastegates. The outside hose is longer than the other. Remove the smaller of the hoses, which is the inside hose. Run a hose from the Actuator to the IN on the black box and from the OUT on the box to the wastegate.
7. On the back side of the wastegate is a small hose that runs up to the engine. That is what lets the ECU control boost. Pull the hose off the end of the wastegate and cap the nipple on the wastegate. You can let the hose dangle, there is no need to remove it.
8. T-connect the hose from your boost gauge to the back of the profec B.
Put the car back together. Make sure the power works on the profec.

when looking at the wastegate from the front of the car (wastegate is the round appendage on the right under the turbo), there will be 1 vacuum hose coming off and going up. remove that vac hose and plug the hole coming out of the wastegate.

go to the FAQ section and there should be a link to the scuderia site. that has all the info you need to install and setup the *****. worked for me.

Here's how mine is hooked up. Minimal lag, good pre-spool, very controlled.

The pills are in the lines between the primary compressor housing and the actuators. If you replaced the lines, you have removed the pills.

Alternately, some turbos did not have pills in the lines. Instead the nipples on the primary compressor housing had the restriction built-in. Some people have drilled these out to remove the restriction for use with a boost controller.

Pretty much. Should have a little less lag this way since there's less vacuum hose to fill up. Also, My pre-spool was not very controlled with the T in place. Not quite sure why, but my setup now is perfect for me

You must plug both the nipple on the wastegate AND the now disconnected line coming from the rat's nest (wastegate actuator solenoid).

did year dictate whether or not the lines or the nipples housed the pills/ restrictors?

i don't think its the year of the car, jus if the turbos are older turbos (have pills in line) or newer (have pills in nipple)

if u have no pills in the line then you'll only see 7 psi of boost

if u have no pills and run 10psi and up fine, then ur pills are on the nipple of the primary turbo

Did you mean to say:
If you HAVE pills in your line, you will only see 7 psi of boost.
I thought the pills are restrictors. If so, did you make a typo, or am I not understanding this at all? Also, if my turbos have the pills in the nipples, they must be drilled out in order to use my greedy profec b spec II?

i still stand wat i stated, don't ask me y but thats how it is i guess, no pills, u only get 7psi, with pills u see your regular boost

i don't know about the spec II but on my regular profec, i had to drill them out in order to install it

Nope, no pills = lower boost.

The pills restrict the pressure from getting to the wastegate actuator. IE- if you yank a hose off and go boosting, you'll boost to infinity because the wastegate will never open. With straight hoses, the actuator sees the true pressure and opens at 7psi (the spring rate).
