Quick airpump question

Hey guys, if i disconnect my airpump for an extended period of time, will it fail on me? I have it disconnected to tune my idle and cruise afrs. I searched but found no difinitive answers. I still have a high-flow cat on the car as well, will running w/o the airpump connected damage it?

Possibly, if the pump isn't used for a long time and it has moisture in it (or gets moisture in it) it will freeze up. I have run across at least 2 shelved pumps where this has occured. I suppose you could protect it with some WD-40 and/or bag it.

It should not hurt the convertor to run without the airpump.
