Questions on Remote Engine Start, Which products, and will it work?

I am curious on getting a remote start system on my 3rd Gen. Something I can press a button and have the car start. Is this even possible with a manual transmission?

Can anyone throw me any pointers or tips on what I should look for. I'd like to elimante the key as much as possible, even a pin pad would be nice, but that's a bit pricey.

If anyone has suggestions, please throw them my way.

Thanks.

A remote start won't eliminate the key. If you were to install one you would still have to insert the key and turn it to the on position before you were able to drive the car.

One thing that you may want to consider as an alternative is a start button.

Yeah as he said if you use a remote start system. You still have to put your key in the ignition. They do that really for theft resons. Like mine if you try to take it out of gear or hit the break with out the key in it, it will kill the motor and set the alarm off. If you wanted you could do something with say a keyless entry and the push start button kind of thing.

Put it this way, you can do anything you want, but don't ask a alarm shop to put remote start on a manual last time I checked its illegal to install on manual cars. However we did it to my friends bmw without a problem. Just PLEASE never use 1st/reverse to keep the car stationary after you do it. He started his car and it took off out the garage. The key problem can be worked around, if you want to badly enough. Just depends on what your willing to do =)
