my plugs weren't wet, but moist when i recently replaced it upon, when i thought my water seal was gone.

after i had a rip on a water hose to rear side housing, didn't drive for two weeks, trying to fix it pulling into a garage, Car wouldn't start, after 20 cranks she did, dies right after, and next crank, idles normal - still a mystery to me. i'd wanna think it was typical undriven rotary thing or i'm losing compression.

after replacin the hose, now i drive her almost daily. little bit of smoke from tip at morning start, but seems normal. but i'v gotta find where the oil's leakin at, aroma of burning oil smell is killing me, somewhere other than oilpan.

I live right in front of the beach on the weekends, and when I park my car outside, I do get a lot of condensation in my exhaust when I start it up. It'll do this for about a minute or two, but will go away once it's warmed up.

Its kind of hard for us to compare our FDs because of the different mods each of us have. If we all had stock cars we could make better comparisons of how our cars run. For example, I no longer have an air pump or cats and because of this my idle is lumpy due to air/fuel mixture at idle. This is why you read so much conflictual info about the FD. I run a straight through exhaust with no cats and an aftermarket computer and I have lumpy idle and smoke at start up. This has been the case for 5 years. I also live in a highly humid climate which could explain the smoke. I autox and attend driving schools regularly with no engine problems as of yet. Ive never done a "leak down" test but I feel my engine is healthy at 60K.

My FD displayed these symptoms when it was bone stock, and it still does currently in modified form (since I don't have a PFC yet). This is the reason I gave the advice; I wouldn't have otherwise.

I guess I wont worry about this for now. As most of you has indicated its somewhat normal.

I have to now worry about rebuilding my turbos myself.

Do any of you know any good threads to look at?
What about a place I can buy a good rebuild kit for stock turbos.

HI ENCONSIDERATE,
WHOOPS sorry about that.
I have the same symptoms that youre exhibiting. This weekend I pull the plugs and I will let you know what my findings are. My exhaust doesnt have the sweet smell indicative of an oring problem. My car sits in a carport overnite and pretty much the only time I have the smoke issue is when it is a prolonged period. I think it is condensation in the exhaust system and the rough idle is because of a too rich condition. I also notice on occasion a very slight sulfur rotten egg scent. All the symptoms disappear after a short period of time.

Someone had mentioned a site for the oring fix. Here it is:

forgot to mention for comparison sake - mods or none, my fd is completely stock, car is new to me and still looks and smells new, 93 with less than 20,000 original miles.
