Question on removing big bolts & misc

I'm rebuilding the engine. What size is that huge bolts/nut at the back of the engine (at the clutch). Is that 54mm ?

The pulley bolts is 17mm - that thing was torque 200 lbs? I can't remove it with my regular impact wrench. Do I need a huge powerful impact wrench?

Third: The parts just above the top spark plug on both housings....is that the knock sensor? Wow, there's one missing at the back. I only saw one from remanufactured engine. I can't take that out either -- it seems its a brass and I'm screwing the corner.

Thank you

Flywheel nut size is 54mm or 2 1/8 inch. In most cases, it's easier and cheaper to get the 2 1/8 inch socket.

The ecentric shaft bolt is typically a little tough. In most cases, a regular impact doesn't do much. If you have a good reverse powered impact, that might to it. Otherwise, a breaker bar.

Yes, that is the knock sensor and the car only has one. It's typically located in the front housing, but some have used the rear housing (as some older ECU's like the PFS had issues when located in the front housing).

Looks like everything is answered ...bought my 2 1/8 socket at sears only place I found
It will be 3/4 drive used adapter and impact flywheel came right off
Front bolt had to heat it up with propane torch and breaker bar with jack handle on it
I also tryed tighting it before loosening

Use a torch to heat up the front e-shaft bolt to break the loctite bond. You can also use heat around the perimeter of the 54mm nut to expand it and help break any bond to the flywheel or counterweight.

I've seen a picture from someone who snap off the front e-shaft bolt before. They sat on the bolt for a while with a lower than adequate torque gun hoping it would break free. In the end it did break free, just not the results they wanted... Do the job right or find someone with the experience/tools to not make things harder in the long run or even worse by hurting yourself.

Yeah -- thanks...all got answered - I will bring the engine to my friend who has a garage and acetylene to heat it up a little bit. My torque wrench will not do any good.
