Question about Pettit ECU

I bought a Pettit ECU (non unlimited) when I was still 100% stock and was told it was set for 14psi and I needed mods including an intercooler so I never installed it.

Does that mean I will be running 14 psi, or I can run up to 14psi.

If I plug it in now, will I run 14psi? I don't have a boost controller.

Will it be safe with my mods: DP and K&N drop in.

I also have a midpipe that isn't installed, could I install it w/ the ECU or should I get a boost controller first?

Who told you this? Pettit re-chips are set to cretin mods just like other computers. If they are set for more mods than what you have you will simply run rich. Unless it's really rich this won't do anything worse than foul your plugs.

The Pettit chip does not regulate boost like other computers. It can handle fuel requirements up to 14.7 psi before it shuts things down (fuel cut).

Your level of boost is independent of the Pettit computer for the most part. As for if it will be safe or not that all depends on what the chip is set for. I highly recommend you contact Pettit and have them burn you a chip for the mods you have. This should cost $50.

This depends to some degree on your other mods but even with boost controllers some owners experience boost creep and spikes with mid pipes. For this reason and others like decreased bottom end power and emissions I prefer having a cat. If you decide to install it with or without a boost controller you need to watch your boost via your boost gauge. If it goes too high then you will need to take action like porting the wastegate.

How about my mods? I'm fixing to get the same computer with the unlimited chip, but I have more mods than the thread starter. My mods are at the bottom.
