question about fixing blown apex seal

i'm looking at buying a 93 with a motor in it thats only got 3k on it. it however has a blown apex seal. my questions are.. 1 how much could i look to sell it for the turbos have 25k, and its auto tranny i would want to sell the entire drivetrain, and my second question is what is required money wise and time wise to repair the blown apex seal? or does it require a full rebuild? thank you so much, i'm sorry if theres already threads up about this but i'm meeting the guy this afternoon...

A blown apex seal requires one to completely tear down the engine to replace. So yeah it's full rebuild

Estimated price $1500 (if you do the work yourself) to 6K if get soem do everything for you and get the works.

Most at around $3.5k-$4k but it largely depends on how much damaged accured when the seals went. Did they rotor scathe the housing? they the seal get sucked into the turbos? who knows? Until you open that sucker up.

I don't think a 93 auto with a blown motor would be worth more than about $6k, tops.

You cannot "fix" an apex seal, once it is broken it needs replacing, meaning rebuild. You also typically need to replace a rotor and housing along with the rebuild, due to the damage cause by the apex seal traveling through the engine.

I interpreted this to be he was asking how much he could sell the DRIVETRAIN for, sounded to me like he was wanting to do a swap?
A blown engine with an automatic is worth....maybe a grand?

If it IS the entire car then yeah, I'd say around $6K to maybe $8K if the car is in extremely good shape otherwise.
