question about boost spike

I have both of my catalytic conveters on my car right now, it wont pass smog and the air pump is broken, and I have very little money. If I can pass smog with a random technology cat, my question is, will the sudden increased flow from the new catalytic conveter cause the boost to spike? I dont plan on getting an after market exhaust now, and I dont plan on removing the precat either, just to install the high flow midcat. The issue is $$$ I cant afford anything fancy right now

With a stock precat you won't have boost trouble.

You are unlikely to pass any credible smog test without a functional airpump.Fix your airpump or buy a used off this forum.(no I don't have one for sale).
