Im doing a custom v mount setup and my ic rests pretty much on the bar that the stock ic and airbox and those things mount onto. I was wondering if this bar actually has a purpose besides mounting for stock parts. I took it out to see and it is very light weight and flimsry so it doesnt seem like it does any sort of bracing like a strut bar. Has anyone removed this from the engine bay?

 

You're correct; it's not structural. Do with it as you wish
