putting a JDM motor into a US Spec car

I recently purchased an JDM front clip FD..

is there anything special to putting it into my US spec car?

i'll be running it on a power FC...

do i basically pull it out.. remove the intake manifold, remove the whole harness, replace it with the US spec one 1 clip at a time...and then stuff it in the car?

I think the JDM harness is actually a little longer than the US spec one...

would it be possible to just run it with the JSPEC harness so i don't have to tear apart half the motor? or it wont mate to the US spec Dash harness?

anything else i should do to it while the motor is out?

I have the complete block off plate kit, i was considering doing...

i'd like to keep the sequential intact tho.. at least for now..

it's a 94 I believe...

what about using the JDM wiring harness and just stuffing it through the firewall

or is it mandatory to use my US spec one?

is there anyway to convert our cars to the 16 bit system?

not easily.. too much work and not worth the effort

PFC is all u need

There was a thread a while back where someone noted some minor differences in the JDM harness verses a US spec one (of the same years). IIRC, the JDM harness didn't have provisions for components like the EGR and a few other things that most people eliminate. ;)

16 bit ECU would alos require the newer solenoid block, no?

so what ur saying is that I could just stick to the Jspec harness,

slap it in my car,

slap on my Power FC.. (not cut any wires from the harness)

turn the key and go?

the amount of time you just save me..... Thank you!

Well, depending on the JDM year, yes you should be able to pretty much use it as is. As for the PFC and wire cutting, I'm not sure about that. That would be something to check with the PFC guys in the PFC forum.

Well you don't cut any wires when putting a PFC into a JDM car so I guess you wouldn't need to :)

exactly! that's what i was thinking too..

only thing i'm wondering is if the harness can make it through the fire wall on the right side rather than the left...

if it does reach.. it's gonna save me hours and hours of work
