hello

just put on some new turbos.
at half throttle or less, the BOV is now venting boost. i can hear it and its quite loud. is that normal? its not a woosh sound, is a woooooooooosh sound. seems you can hold the throttle in a certain position and the sound will keep coming.

these new turbos spool unbelieveably faster than the previous ones.

it did not do that before, but the previous turbos were not so good. also i have noticed with the new turbos, my warm up mode in the morning is much louder than before.

 

The sound you're hearing is normal. When the car is in vacuum, it's bleeding off boost. Did you have your BOV and CRV venting to atmosphere before the turbo swap, or is that something new? You should have been hearing that same sound before the swap if the BOV(s) were venting out.

 

yea i have been using a blitz BOV. never heard it so loud with the old turbos. i thought i had a boost leak at first or broke the waste gate somehow.

 

If you don't want it to do that tighten the BOV up a bit and see if it takes care of it. It might take some playing around with to get it to where you want it.
