I have the Pettit TKT main pulley. At idle, the A/C does suffer and the lights dim somewhat (and will fluctuate with the bass if you crank up an amp). Once you are off idle (>1000rpm) everything works normally, and as one would be accustomed to. I have noticed no effect on cooling under any condition.

Based on experience, I don't think the pulley frees up more than a few horsepower at best. What it does [for me] is make the car feel lighter and slightly more responsive--especially off idle--but the difference is minor; an incremental gain.

IMO, if you spend most or all of your time idling (as you would in slow, heavy traffic) stick with stock ratios; you'll be happier. If you don't idle much, then you're probably OK with them. If you do extended high rpm operation (read track work), they become more valuable, if not mandatory.

You really should get a piece of string and measure the route for the belt. It should be around 30.5 but you should measure to make sure.
