pulley/belt noise

so would spraying a little wd-40, or some liquid wrench on the pulleys/belt be a bad idea?

yes, wd-40 would make it slip. i beleive the belt dressing spray is most likey silicone to make it stick, but that's just a guess. Goodyear poly V is the best belt and I beleive those are lifetime warranty, then they have gatorback belts. OEM belts are Gates. Anyhow you want to adjust the tension. About a 1/4" of play pushing it either direction should be about right.

Sometimes you just get junk on the belts and they squeak and squeal. Belt dressing will take care of business there - it's a good idea to have on hand.

alot of times squeeling can be caused be a loose or worn out belt, replacing or tighening it up has always solved my problems
