I suspect after 20 years of heat the rubber has a tendency to get worn out and tear.

I've never seen these "new" before either. Would be interesting to call Ray and see what he says.

if you just look in the parts catalog, the relay comes with the condom on it only, however there may be some other car, like the MPV or something that had it listed with the condom separately
