Prospective FD Mileage Issue
Ok, I am pretty close to buying an FD that is in my area with 115k on the "origional" engine (but who knows, ill find this out later, before I buy) and it is the cleanest Rx I have ever seen ( compared to middle-aged 50-60k's I have seen this one blows them out of the water ). But anyways to my question, I ran the Carfax just know and from 1996-2000 there is a jump in mileage of 52,000 miles, should I be worried that for 4 years the car averaged 13k miles a year?

I've never heard of an FD going for more than 130K. That isn't to say a few didn't, but it is extremely rare. I'd be ready to dump a few grand into it if you buy it. If the body and interior are good that is definantly a plus!

Well, My logic behind it is that if I can get the thing for around 11k then I will put the money I save into having the engine sent somewhere and getting a streetport/rebuild done on it. Does this sound like a descent idea? Or do you think the high mileage will only haunt me?

$11k for a 93 w/ hi miles would be decent price, especially if it's clean. Do meticulous maint on the car and maybe it'll last you years to come. If the mileage was hiway, your odds of longer engine life is quite good.
